At present, the biggest challenge for enterprise information systems is how to enable fixed and mobile equipment and safely and quickly access enterprises at any time and in any connection mode, so that remote and mobile users can timely get key applications and information. For each enterprise, the lack of a successful access solution will greatly lower the values of the enterprise information system.

The remote access market has witnessed more and more requirements from customers. A survey report from IDC shows that the global access market has been quickly developing at an 11.7% annual compound growth rate; in 2007, the market capacity will be over US$21.6 billion, and the access market will experience a new peak in development.

Faced with remote application requirements, Chinese software vendors have failed to offer a good solution. To ensure quick response in applications, most vendors adopt the distributed solution; that is, data servers are established in different places, and data is transmitted separately to the head office for summary. Although some Web version applications have been enabled, most products by Chinese software vendors cannot meet the need for enterprise services – especially remote queries – due to the low speed. Therefore, Web version products have failed to attract many customers. In selecting information systems, enterprise users pay more and more attentions on the remote application capability. Any ERP software lacking a successful access solution is considered deficient, as such product might lead to unsatisfactory implementation and application effects.
